A Christmas Poem

Twas the night before Christmas, deep in my heart, peace and joy from above, may it never depart.

Take hold without guidance, the reins of my life. Embrace disappointments, setbacks and strife.

Worried and fearful, beating my chest, cancels dependence from One who knows best.

Knowing our nature would never submit, to a powerful God who declared ‘I am It’.

Words written by man, guided by Him, are often neglected, we just want to win.

A Son He then sent, slowing our stray, gave us a Helper, then taken away.

Prayers for my family, prayers for my friends. Prayers for them all, to be born again.

Feasting and gifts without question are fine, but having a shepherd is oh, so sublime.

Merry Christmas to all, be of good cheer. May His presence be with you, all through the new year.

Shout out to the author, ‘arose such a clatter’. My faith and my family are really what matters.
